We build technology to reach the people usually left out.
MILAE checks in on older adults by phone, as often as each municipality decides, and keeps its services aware of who needs support.
How it works
Calls
At the cadence the social care team sets, MILAE phones each person.
Talks
It asks how they are, listens, and notices when something changes.
Alerts
When there is a sign, the municipality knows in time to act.
We write about how more technology has been leaving older people lonelier, and what could be different. Read the article → All writing →
The product
MILAE is in service. Every call produces a record, and the municipal dashboard shows the social care team how each person is doing, which alerts are waiting to be confirmed, and the calls scheduled for the day. The decision to act always rests with the municipal caseworker.

MILAE calls, talks, and signals. The caseworker decides and acts.
MILAE is sold to municipalities as a service, under a fixed annual contract. See how it works →
How we work
We work on one simple principle: technology that solves social problems has to work for people who do not know how to use technology. That is why MILAE uses the phone the person already has, with no app, no internet and no equipment to install.
Data stays in Europe
All of MILAE's infrastructure is hosted in European Union regions. It is a rule we do not bend, and it is the first question any municipality asks.
Data Protection Officer
We have an external Data Protection Officer, notified to Portugal's data protection authority. Direct contact at dpo@honecraft.pt.
The decision is human
MILAE talks and flags. It does not decide, it does not diagnose, and it does not call emergency services. The person who acts is always the municipality's social care worker.
The analysis looks at what was said in the conversation, not at emotional state inferred from the voice, so MILAE is not an emotion recognition system within the meaning of the European AI Act. See the privacy policy →
